Not So Perfect Vacation

Have you ever been effected by weather? Well, I have. One time when I was in Indiana, it was cold, snowy, and it was hailing. White cloth pelted me with the force of ice scratching my face.

It was one of the worst experiences in my life. It was nothing like a winter wonderland. I thought it was going to be a nice vacation, but it could have been a lot better. We were going to go to a soccer game, see family, and go to the zoo, but all that was cancelled for some snowball fights and building snowmen. Everything looked like Perfect North, everything gone.

The worst part of my experience was the hail. Ice the size of golf balls pelted me like grapeshot. When it hit me it felt like I was getting hit with ice, well… I was getting hit with ice.

The reason why I will remember this experience is that I had scratches and I couldn’t feel my hands the whole time. Warm red liquid blanketed my hand as hail scratched it. The hail made me feel like I was in the military and I was wounded. If it wasn’t cold, snowy or if it wasn’t hailing then I probably would have had a great time. The only thing that was good about Indiana was the snowball fights and building snowmen.

It is nice going on a vacation with your family, but if it turns out to be a total disaster, you are going to remember the experience. It is harsh trying to go outside when it cold, snowy, and hailing. North is like a giant snowball with houses. I will give you a tip; don’t go north for the winter.

Boom! Bam!

I sat there on my tire swing petting Rugger; it started to thunder when… BOOM! Blinding light exploded as wood cracked and splintered all around me. My favorite tree had been split wide open!!! BY LIGHTNING!!!!!! I was so scared and Rugger too! Rugger and I ran to our hiding place under the house, and we used the secret latch to get in.

As I got in the house, I realized I forgot my favorite toy. I know I never leave HIM behind, so I went back to get him. I got him, but as I was coming back it started to rain. My Sue Sue came to the door.

“Joshua,” she said, “please get in the house!”

I got inside ASAP. Sue Sue trembled as she looked at me. As the door closed, BOOM! Lightning struck ANOTHER a tree. All three of Sue Sue’s dogs yelped and ran through the kitchen into the bedroom beyond, and I knew they were headed for under the bed.

Sue Sue said, “You may go ahead and eat dinner. Then you can go to bed and watch TV, you do not need a bath tonight.” Why no bath???

It was 9:30 and I was watching Scooby-Doo when ZZRRP! The TV shut off… so did everything. I heard nothing… Rugger jumped up and I gasped and my heart was pounding Bum Bum … Bum Bum … I called to Sue Sue then I heard a loud noise. Was it a tornado? Or something else?

10:00 the power come on and I turned the TV back on, but all I saw was tiny black and white dots moving around. Then I decided to go look for Sue Sue. I was in the living room when I heard barking and it was Bee Bee, the dog. She had come out from under the bed. A few minutes later Rugger and Dixie came with me to look. I looked everywhere! The last place was up stairs. I was not allowed to go up there because it was not build well, but I went up there and that was a very bad idea. I found Sue Sue up there, but then … creek …BASHHH! I fell right through the ceiling and all I saw was black.

I woke up in a bed, and I thought it was all a dream, but when I moved it hurt. I saw people in masks. I got scared and thought they were ALIENS! As I rubbed my eyes, I realized they were doctors and nurses. PHEW! No aliens. Tears streamed down my face as my body ached.

Sue Sue came in with some food and said, “You broke your legs.”

Looking at her in horror, I asked, “When will I get better?”

She said, “Maybe a month or two, sweet pea.”

I was in a wheel chair for a long time. I did NOT enjoy it at ALL.

Modern Warfare Returns!

Call of Duty MW3 is one of my favorite video games. This game is rated M for mature. I like to play this game at my friend’s house because I have a Wii (this game is better on Xbox.) MW3 stand for Modern Warfare 3 because there were different games made before it. This game is the 3rd game where you finally capture a guy named Makarov; he is the bad guy that always escapes in the other games before.

I really like this game because it has a lot of adventure. For example, there are different levels in the game, and you are battling other guys to get Makarov. You battle in boats, jeeps, helicopters, planes, and even submarines.

Modern Warfare 3 is one of my favorite video games. So, buy it now! Buy it now!!!! I give this game 5 paws!!!!!!!

The Amazing Amazing Spiderman!

The amazing Spiderman 3DS game is a game that has three modes. The actual game and the other two modes you can play for the classic spider man suit or a black suit. This game is also for Xbox and Wii. This game is mainly about how Spiderman discovers his true enemy is Smyth an infected scientist (he is only bad because the infection made him crazy) who says that he wants to save everyone but basically he just gives you a ton of robots that tries to kill you. This game is also about how you beat him. First he takes your powers then he goes to Manhattan with his secret weapon but you have an old friend to help win the fight too. This game is also sort of short I think it had about 13 levels not including other modes that have very short levels or missions. This game also has 3D but I don’t like it
I also think this game is exciting. One example of this is when you are slowly walking through the sewer and cross-species (half human half animal in this case lizard) people are chasing you. Then you get to the end the lizard attacks you.
I like how this game has a Petty Crime Mode. It is short and sort of challenging if you can’t be seen at all or you are rescuing someone under heavy guard. But you have to be pretty experienced at stealth fighting, rescuing people secretly, and survival. So if you can play video games that are challenging, amazing, and short than I recommend this game to you.
I give this game 5 paws!

Now You See Me ... Now You Don't!

Ever have a feeling you are being followed?

Being followed by someone you don’t even know is the worse, especially if you can’t see them. I really like this book Now You See Me… because it’s full of ghost trouble and adventure.

Lena and Abby are like treasure hunters. They hunt for old technology, with a “no eBay” rule. They finally find what they have been looking for, an old fashion camera called the Impulse. Lena takes a photo of Abby. They print the photo, and a boy with a troubled, dark, face appears. This is scary for Lena and Abby. In every photo, the boy- who they find out is Robbie- gets a little clearer. Soon Lena finds out that Robbie die in an accident on March 13, 1990, with the water tower! Will Lena and Abby ever find a way to make Robbie stop?

I really like this book Now You See Me because it has great characters. For example, Abby is very entertaining and funny whereas Lena is adventurous. I couldn't put this book down!

Funny Life!

Have you ever wondered what’s it’s like to laugh so hard milk shoots out your nose? Well, it happened to me when I read The Diary of a Wimpy kid. This book is about Greg, his family, and his friends as he stumbles through life.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was of the best books I have ever read.

One reason I liked it was because it is really funny. Rodrick, Greg’s brother, pulls pranks on him all the time. Too, it keeps you interested and keeps you reading. The author, Jeff Kinney, has written many parts where something weird happens. There are at least nine people that Greg talks about in the book and the author is always introducing a new character. If you’re looking for a funny read, this is the book for you.

I’d give this book five paws.
